As a result of our differences in outlook, we have differing expectations of leaders.
It is natural for us to lead and direct others in the way that is most suitable to ourselves, but unless this matches the style of other staff members, they will not apply themselves as well as they could. This session examines our approach to our work; how we prefer to be lead and directed, and how we can provide an environment where each individual is the best version of themselves possible. You will learn to better understand your staff; their way of thinking, why they behave the way they do, and how you can lead and instruct them a way that they will respond to.
I will then introduce a problem-solving model that will enable the team to collectively address any issue within your workplace, whilst reinforcing the importance of the differing contributions of team members. The most effective decisions are those that examine all available information, consider a balance of views and are easy to implement as a result of wide acceptance. The model ensures that a full range of information and viewpoints are included in the decision making process, and allows each person to contribute in their area of strength. We will work through this using a current issue from your workplace to provide both practice and a concrete outcome that you can utilise.
“Jacqueline, the presenter, is brilliant. Great style, funny as can be, and she provided outstandingly good information. I'm amazed at the change of attitude from our team; from suspicious and pessimistic about this sort of thing on the day before, to 'When can we do some more?' on the day after. It was the best money we've spent in quite some time.” Tony
